Ry and Gammel Ry is an area that must be visited when the holiday goes to Bryrup and Silkeborg. The most well-known destination that Ry is known for is of course Himmelbjerget, but as a natural extension of one of Denmark's highest points, Ry also offers some of the country's most beautiful nature with picture-perfect lakes and lush forests.

Ry is located right by the Gudenå and is a cozy little station town with plenty of life, eateries, shops and many artisans. That's why Ry is a place you simply MUST visit when you stay at Bryrup Camping.
You can advantageously pack your swimwear and enjoy a dip in one of the delicious swimming lakes that surround Ry. For example, Knudsø offers no less than two wonderful bathing beaches.
With a breathtaking view of Julsø lies one of Denmark's highest points; Himmelberget.
Himmelbjerget is called "the Sky Mountain" in English, which says something about how flat a country Denmark is. But it is in Ry in Søhøjlandet that you will find this 147 meter high "mountain", where you can admire the most beautiful view of the landscape.
In the forests south of Himmelbjerget itself, there are plenty of other fantastic viewpoints, so pack a lunch basket and strap on your hiking boots, and then enjoy some of the most beautiful nature Denmark has to offer.
